Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Unit is now the Investment Migration Agency Grenada (IMA Grenada). The new identity of the Investment Migration Agency  is one of several changes revealed as part of a rebranding initiative undertaken by the former Unit to redesign the global image of Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Programme.

The new brand, which bears a red thumbprint as its brand mark, was revealed on Thursday, Wednesday March 20, to an audience of keen industry stakeholders in Grenada. The iconography, and overall brand said Thomas Anthony, the CEO of the now IMA Grenada, signifies the need to create a Grenadian identity that stresses its emphasis on robust due diligence, as well as leaves scope for the future growth of the programme.

“The brand must signal and embrace the robust due diligence that Grenada’s programme is known for.  Just as the thumbprint is central to the identity of each individual, so too is the humble spice – the nutmeg – to Grenada and Grenadians; and so, the merger of the importance of confirming the identity of applicants with a unique Grenadian identifier became obvious,” Anthony said.

“Important too, is a look to the future as we adapt, evolve and transform to say sustainable. We listened to our stakeholders, policy advisors, and development partners, and it became lucid that we must prepare the foundation now for a more rounded investment migration programme with the potential for adding new features in the future.”

Unlike the programmes of its regional competitors, Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Programme had been operating with the country’s Coat of Arms as its brand identifier since its launch. This hindered marketing efforts as usage of the Coat of Arms came with inherent limitations. With the new brand, the Agency is confident that it will be more effective in its marketing of the programme, which will now have a clear and consistent brand message and identity.

Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell, who was on hand to witness the reveal, expressed his support for the new brand and reinforced his government’s commitment to protect, defend, and grow the investment immigration industry in Grenada.

“Often times persons don’t like the idea that the Caribbean community can find innovative ways to attract capital or financing to our shores. But the hallmark of a sovereign nation is in-fact to be able to find ways to continue to grow and develop its people and to grow and develop its economy,” Mitchell said.

According to the Prime Minister, the investment migration industry earned Grenada approximately XCD 192 million in 2022 – a figure that was far improved in 2023, with its earnings of XCD 456 million in non-tax revenue. For the year ahead, the industry is again expected to earn record figures of XCD 370 million – about 30% of the state’s non-tax revenue. For this reason, and the multiplying effects that occur from state earned revenue, “the government is committed to supporting the rebranding exercise both in name and in deed and any legislative changes that will be required to facilitate this process we will undertake and do so swiftly,” Mitchell said.

With the new brand, IMA Grenada hopes that individuals looking for citizenship, those who have acquired citizenship, and the local Grenadian community, will be triggered by the tagline to “unlock the possibilities,” available to them.

“For those seeking a second citizenship, the ask is simple, choose the Grenada migration programme – the best in class. For new citizens, it is about learning about your new nationality, visiting the island and contributing beyond the initial investment, and for the local community, it is about embracing the opportunity that the foreign direct investment allows for further economic development collectively and individually,” said Anthony.

Grenada’s new brand was designed by Open Interactive Inc. It represents a consorted move to carve out a clear and distinct image of Grenada’s place within this growing investment migration industry, while being sensitive to the parameters that shape the development of the very same industry. With the change, the Agency will have a new outfit, including a new website www.imagrenada.gd.
